Growing a business from home can feel isolating at times. When you’re working online, many people in your life won’t really get what you’re doing. There will be people who don’t understand why you don’t just get a real job.
When you combine this situation with being surrounded by your kiddos all day, loneliness can set in. You start to wonder if anyone else understands, or struggles like you do.
You wonder if you’re alone.
Join Other Mamapreneurs
Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Though it can feel like it at times. There are plenty of other mamas working hard to grow their businesses, as they raise their kids.
You just have to find them.
But, when you’re trying to grow your business and spend time with your kids, heading out of the house for networking just doesn’t sound fun.
Especially when you live in the boonies like I do. Networking in person involves a long drive, and not many people. So what do I do instead?
Here are a couple of ways I connect.
Join a Mastermind Group
I’ve tried a couple of mastermind groups before finding one where I really feel at home. This one is comprised of other moms growing their own businesses. This particular group works well for me for two reasons:
- It’s an all female group, and the majority are moms. They understand some of the unique struggles.
- There are smaller groups inside the large group. Twice each month I head down to our local bus garage to jump on a Zoom call with three other ladies.
The smaller group has been key. I’m an introvert, and often feel overwhelmed in large group settings. However, with only four of us, it forces me out of my shell. There’s no hiding on a video call with only four people!
I love my time meeting with my group. We strategize , encourage, and help one another. By leaving the house to participate, I don’t get distracted as easily.
Facebook Groups
Masterminds aren’t the only way to join other mamapreneurs. I’m in several Facebook Groups with other ladies doing incredible things.
If you’re looking to join a group, here are some I recommend. They aren’t all limited to mamas, but I’ve connected with others in each:
- Mom to Mompreneur
- Sisterhood of the Hustlin’ Mamas
- Profitable Online Entrepreneurs
- Side Hustle Mamas
- Lady Boss Bloggers & Mompreneurs
Face to Face
Though I don’t often have the opportunity to meet other mamapreneurs in person, I enjoy it when I can. There’s something special about face to face communication.
See if you can find others nearby to meet with, even if it’s just for a milkshake twice a year. (Or a cup of coffee, if you drink it!)
How Do You Join Other Mamapreneurs?
I’d love to hear how you’re connecting with others. Realizing you’re not alone helps so much!
