How was your Independence Day? I had a fabulous weekend with my family, and hope you enjoyed some time as well.
Since July is here it’s time to crunch some numbers with another income report.
I share these reports for a couple of reasons:
- To give myself a reason to stay on top of my paperwork
- To motivate me to work harder
- To offer a transparent look at the possibilities available online
I count income as it comes into my bank account rather than when I bill out. Expenses are done the same way–as they leave.
A Recap & The Numbers
April and May were rough for me. I brought in around $1000. Between the two months. Ouch!
So how did June go?
I’m very happy to report that it was a much more productive (and profitable) month.
Let’s talk income first.
June saw $1988.89 enter my account. I’m so thankful that this was much higher than April or May.
My income was 90% writing and 10% virtual assistance.
Expenses
I ran my first giveaway in June, and my expenses were a bit higher than normal because of that.
I also invested some money into my business by:
- Having my sales page rewritten (so much better now!)
- Purchasing a new theme and paying for an install (which rolls out later today!)
It’s essential to invest some money back into my business to keep it running and growing.
Other expenses included:
- PayPal fees
- ConvertKit membership
- A freelance intensive course
- Bank fee (totally need to call the bank on this one, because these went away in November, and just suddenly came back!)
- Mastermind fee
All of my expenses came to $547.53.
That means my gross income (before taxes) was $1441.36.
All made working on a very part-time basis, from my home with the kids.
Is my income as high as I’d like? Nope.
But it’s way better than it has been, and I’m extremely thankful for that.
Looking forward to July
My goal for July is to keep on keeping on. I have a new client, several articles scheduled, and upcoming opportunities as a virtual assistant.
We’ll also be haying, cleaning up on the farm, and making all new annual schedules around the house.
Summer is a busy month on the farm, but I want to keep pushing my freelance career as well.
How will July turn out?
You’ll have to come back in August and find out.
How did your June go? I’d love to hear if you’re going through a famine of your own or are feasting.
And here’s to a great July for all of us!
