Note from Lisa: Wondering what you should write about? I’ve got an amazing guest post to share with you today that’ll help you answer that question. Kartina Rosli shares 10 inspirational blog post ideas that are prefect for mompreneurs.
You’ll find ten types of blog posts you can write that’ll help you fill your content calendar for the beginning of 2020!
Take it away Kartina…
Whether you are a home-based mompreneur or run your enterprise from a small boutique office space, curating blog content is an effective way to promote and market your ideas, products, and services to your potential customers.
Publishing regular content on your website and social media platforms not only help to raise brand awareness, but provide an avenue for you to share information, engage, build trust and develop rapport with your customers.
If you are among the league of mompreneurs who need some blog post suggestions for your business, here are 10 inspirational ideas for you to think about.
Idea #1: Start with Your Business Story
If you have just launched your business, start your blog with the motivation behind your business idea. Share how your experiences, either working in the corporate world, or as a freelancer or even a life-changing event became the source of inspiration for you to embark your entrepreneurial journey.
Storytelling is a great way to introduce your business and gain followers.
Idea #2: Offer What Your Competitors Don’t
What makes your business unique?
Do some research and source for an idea, product and services that are not offered by your competitor. Take advantage of that and turn it into a blog post idea.
For example, if you are in the catering business and none of your competitors offer a certain dish or cuisine, consider writing about the dish, the ingredients, the origin and the nutritional value.
Drizzle the article with why your readers should consider trying the dish and engage your service for their next event.
Idea #3: Share Your Parenting Experience and Its Relation to Your Business
As parents, we can draw inspiration from our family and children. Had a morning ‘negotiation’ situation with your teenager? What did you learn from that incidental parenting moments?
What did you discover about good parenting and its co-relation with good leadership or business acumen? Provide some tips for your readers to reflect.
Note from Lisa: Children are a definite asset to your business, and can be a great source of inspiration!
Idea #4: Share Client Experiences and Feedback
Third-party endorsement is a brilliant and good form of direct advertising for your business because it is authentic and genuine. Share your experiences working with your clients and the lessons learned while on the project.
Testimonials and client feedback are also another good source of content so do encourage them to provide you one.
Idea #5: Write About ‘Life Hacks’ or ‘Tips and Tricks’
Readers enjoy articles that are interesting, help them do things better and save them time.
Such articles are good conversation starters as well and you may get people commenting or sharing ideas back at you. These types of helpful pieces also provide an opportunity for you to ‘market’ how your business can manage the ‘life hacks’ for your customers as well.
Idea #6: Ask Your Readers: What Do You Like?
One way to find out what your customers need or want in order to solve their problem is to ask them!
Get the ball rolling by posting a question on a particular issue that they can relate. For example, if you are offering a media social manager solution for a small business, ask what some of your clients’ marketing challenges are.
Share what you have to offer and ask them if they would consider it, and if not, why. Encourage them to leave comments on your blog.
Then take that feedback and turn it into your next blog post!
Idea #7: Create Your Book List for the Year.
Light-hearted blog pieces can add variety to your business content. Provide information that is useful for your readers or a source of knowledge.
Have you been reading some thought-provoking or good books that your readers may benefit from?
List your favorite book titles and provide a teaser or a short synopsis (don’t give the ending though!) for your readers to have a reason to run to the library or order one from your latest bookstore. Get them to tag you when they purchase the book or share their reviews on your blog.
Idea #8: Invite Guests or Influencer Bloggers
Do you need a little positive exposure for your business? Consider inviting guest writers or brand influencers in your niche to blog about your product, service or the event you just held.
Guest blogging can help to expose your business to the blogger’s followers too. When guest bloggers write content that is relevant to your business and written in a SEO friendly manner, it can also help rank the article on search engines better and draw more traffic to your website or blog posts.
Idea #9: Share Your Favorite Blogs or Must Follow Social Profiles
I always tell my clients the value of networking and building your brand presence online and offline. Why? Because connections can provide leads and provide beneficial information that are useful for business.
I follow several business leaders and thought leaders on LinkedIn. One of them is Arthur Vibert’s. Arthur’s ‘Daily Walks’ posts and blog entries on medium.com are a source of inspiration for me. Arthur is a brilliant writer where he shares both business knowledge as well as life stories that inspires.
What are yours and share why they are on your list.
Idea #10: Try a Photo Competition or Funny Short Stories of the Season
With Christmas around the corner, it is an excellent idea to invite your readers to contribute their best family Christmas pictures or short stories to you. Start by posting your own story and sharing a funny picture.
You can pepper your invitation for contributions with a unique token, as well. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Either a discount coupon or a handwritten thank you card snailed mailed to them are nice gestures for the season.
Blog Post Ideas Are All Around You
There are hundreds of ways to generate blog post ideas for your business blog. As a mompreneur, the most inspirational ones usually comes from your very own parenting experiences.
So, the next time you are lost for ideas, recall your morning conversation you had with your six-year old or the experience at the grocery store earlier. Trust me, it can come in handy.
Note from Lisa: Thanks so much Kartina! Those are some great blog post ideas for mompreneurs.
